On my second remanufactured engine I installed the lockout before installing the engine. No vibration no dieseling no clicking. This kit plus cast iron tensioners are the answer to the 3v problems. More torque down low and for some reason this engine revs out almost to 6k strong before shifting gears. Gas mileage I see no difference but I'm still breaking in with dino oil. After install I had some issues that I had caused but thought was the tune. They helped me find my mistake over the phone chafed wire by manifold. This kit is the answer to the 5.4 3v. Easy to install eliminated rough operation and noise. When you call a person answers the phone and will actually help you.

Had them in for a week now runs solid . Revs a little high when passing someone up hill but that's with the wife driving lol .. I dont here the chatter at 900 1200 rpms witch made me think the moter was going ro blow before the install perty happy. Note .. had the battery on a charger tender before programing the computer! Also best customer services I've seen in a long time, thank you

If you are having any second thoughts about buying this, don’t. Been using this kit for 4 months now and everything is running better than it ever did, 10% better fuel mileage, and more towing power. I did not change anything else we just installed the kit. Before I installed this, truck would run like it was on 6 cyl after a good workout and almost die when going into reverse. These guys are top notch and supply a great kit. Thank you WMS.

First trip 700km pulling a 4000lb travel trailer with a 700lb atv in the bed initially was a little apprehensive but the truck performed as advertised. In the 2500 - 3000rpm range uphill maintained 90 - 100 kmh with ease, flat highway 1500 rpm 100 - 110 kmh around town mileage has been steady at 14L per hundred ( empty) loaded it was averaging 18 - 19L per hundred and best of the rattle is gone. I've been running 5W30 prior to the lockouts/ tune and continue to do so.



Unfortunately the 2nd to 3rd shift seems to come on a little early when pulling slow up steep logging roads and the truck and the truck falls flat.

The kit is complete and the instructions made the installation very easy and the SCT programmer is very user friendly! The tune doesn't match my PCM code at first but WMS correct it within an hour, on a week-end! very impressed with the support , will definitely buy from them again, have done the job on two of my trucks and the difference is day and night, Thank you WMS

The sct x4 is a very easy to use tool . the people at wms were very friendly and easy to work with. Shipping was also fast. My ecm had already been reflashed before I bought the truck . I called the crew at wms. they sent me a new custom tune and answered any questions I had to reflash it. the cam phaser lockouts were easy to install , If you have a good mechanical ability. I used the 87 octane tune. this is the quietest 5.4 3 valve I have ever heard run. I have heard a lot of them because I used to work on them at the dealership. The sct x4 is also great for data logging as well as using the gauge layout. You will never have to listen to noisy cam phasers again. If that's not enough it also got rid of all the drive by wire throttle lag as well as improved shift points and more power with no discernable difference in fuel mileage.

After reviewing lockout kits I clearly thought the wms kit was the way to go and am so glad I did. Passenger side phaser was definitely bad. While apart I decided to change timing chain guides and tensioners. Was glad to see all was well there but swapped them out anyway.
Phasers were a breeze to lockout and the program was easy to install. I can definitely tell a big difference in truck with more power and is now so quiet I thought it stalled a couple times at stop signs because was so used to hearing engine knocking. I am totally amazed how my engine went from sounded so bad to being so quiet and smooth. Thanks for a great product and fast delivery.

Just picked this truck up fully aware of the cam phaser/ gear noise issue. Did plenty of research and decided to go with this kit with this company because it was a better value than the livernoise kit and came with a better tuner on top. Just completed the job with my buddy... Took most of the day but we're we're making t more fun while drinking. Everything went smoothly, instructions were detailed and we did not encounter any issues. The tune loaded up perfectly. Truck runs significantly quieter and seems to have more bottom end torque now. Still has a slight noise to it but the truck does have 180,000 miles on it... it's overall very quiet and I would absolutely recommend this kit to anyone.

This is the perfect solution to a well known noisy cam phaser issue. It's also is represented correctly. I changed the lash adjusters & roller followers while i was already tore down for piece of mind. They are correct, the tune gives the 5.4 more power right where needed. It also gets rid of the lag time of the fly by wire throttle. I do not see any loss in fuel mileage. The sct x4 is also very easy to use. I now have a quite 5.4 that runs better than when it was new. customer support is second to none. Thank's wms !
